Windows ME Setup Instructions |

The following instructions are to help guide users of Windows
Millennium to connect to the internet using HOTNET.
- Double Click on MY COMPUTER.
- Double Click on CONTROL PANEL.
- Double Click on DIALUP NETWORKING.
- Double Click on MAKE NEW CONNECTION.
- Where it asks for a name Type: HOTNET.
- Click the Button which says CONFIGURE.
- Change the Maximum speed to 57600 then click OK.
- Click Next.
- Area code should be typed as (2) for (02) do not type the
ZERO.
- Type the phone number you were given by HOTNET for your
particular Location (0198331246).
- Make sure that Country Code is set as AUSTRALIA 61.
- Now Click Next and then Finish.
- Now use the RIGHT mouse button and Click on HOTNET Icon.
- Menu box should appear/goto PROPERTIES at the bottom.
- Take the Tick out of USE AREA CODE AND DIALING PROPERTIES.
- Click the Tab now which reads NETWORKING.
- Under ADVANCED OPTIONS only have enable software compression
ticked.
- Under ALLOWED NETWORK PROTOCOLS only have TCP/IP ticked.
- Click on the Tab which reads TCP/IP SETTINGS.
- Make sure you have a DOT in server assigned IP ADDRESS.
- Make sure you have a DOT in server assigned NAME SERVER
ADDRESSES.
- Make sure there is a Tick in USE IP HEADER COMPRESSION.
- Make sure there is a Tick in USE DEFAULT GATEWAY ON REMOTE.
- Now Click OK and then OK again and you can now dial for
the 1st time.
- Make sure that Username/Password both typed in LOWER CASE.
