1. To begin setting up Windows Mail on Windows Vista Operating System we begin by clicking on Start followed by the "E-mail" icon.

. This is the loading screen you should see when Windows Mail launches. If this is not the screen you see then you have launched an incorrect program.
3. Once Windows Mail has loaded you will need to go to the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts" to begin setting up your new email account.
4. Click the "Add" button on the right hand side to begin the account setup wizard.
5. Select "Email Account" and then click "Next".
6. Enter your name or a name you whish to be represented by when people receive an email from you.
7. Enter your unique Hotnet email address into this field in the format yourusername@hot.net.au
Example: johndoe@hot.net.au
8. To make the account function properly, we need to enter server information as follows. Be very careful of your typing as the information has to be exact for the account to work without errors.
Select: POP3 Incoming Mail Server: mail.hot.net.au
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.hot.net.au
Do NOT tick "outgoing server requires authentication"
To proceed click "Next".
9. Check that your unique username that you chose when signing up with Hotnet is displayed correctly. Enter your password for your Hotnet account and select "Remember password". The application will then remember your password for when it checks and downloads your email. Click "Next" to proceed.
10. Congratulations! You have completed setting up your Hotnet email account in Windows Mail. Click "Finish" to complete the wizard and begin downloading or creating email.
11. When the Wizard has completed it will connect and download your email. This is the progress indicator for the process of checking and downloading email. You will see this when you check your email.
12. If you wish to check to see if you have new email, you can do so by clicking the "send and Receive" button as follows.
